BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 4 reales, (1650-52) (O or E), with crowned-•F• (two dots) countermark on shield. KM-17b; Cal-Type 279. 12.51 grams. Broad, odd-shaped flan with slightly bent point in edge, extensive peripheral flatness but the cross full and very well detailed, as is also the upper half of the shield, below which is a full crown and top of F in countermark, minor surface pitting, toned in crevices. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
